Okay, so ‘arabs palatinians and israelis now’ are no indication of the ethnicity of people who lived there a mere 2000ish years ago? That is the lamest excuse for whitewashing that I have seen in a while. 
Also, it seems that whenever ethnicity is an issue, the ‘they could be purple’ comment is brought out. POC-friendly crayons? They should just use purple, kids don’t care what colour you are! Bah. Is purple some magic colour that erases discrimination?
